Mary Nell Miller's Obituary
Mary Nell “Mama” Miller, of Memphis, died on Wednesday, Feb 24, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on October 4, 1928 in Memphis to Orlena and Milton Hudson. She is survived by her daughter Mary Orlena Miller, also of Memphis. Mary Nell will be missed by many, these include cousins: Mrs. Sue Dolan, of Memphis, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ralph, of Madison, TN, Mr. and Mrs Vincent Ralph, of Iuka, MS, Mr. and Mrs. James Ralph, of Memphis, TN and dear friends Mrs. Sarah Dye, of Saltillo, MS, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Bishop, of Memphis and Catherine Barbati, of Memphis. A graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, in Memphis, Mrs. Miller worked as Head Nurse of the IV Team at both St. Joseph Hospital and St. Francis Hospital. Throughout her nursing career she touched many lives and eased a great deal of suffering with her skill and compassion. After retiring from nursing Mary Nell enjoyed traveling. Her favorite trip was always the next trip, especially if it involved a NASCAR race. When poor health kept her from the track Mary Nell was still a faithful fan, catching every race broadcast. In addition to her love of travel, she was also an avid reader, passing along a love of books to her daughter. A rosary, a short visitation and brief memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Saturday, February 27, 2010 at 130pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Childrens’ Hospital or a charity of your choice.
