Mary Lou Meadows' Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lou Meadows will be held Saturday, April 3rd at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Ave in Memphis. Visitation will be at from 1:30 PM with the service at 3 PM. Mrs. Meadows was born Mary Lou McCord in Cary, MS on July 4,1921. She died March 29,2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Fort Smith. She was a life member of the Normal Whitehaven Chapter No. 43 Eastern Star in Memphis, TN. Mary Lou attended Tulane University and during WWII she worked for the Corps of Engineers in Memphis. Later she also worked for Anderson Tully and Nicky Brothers. She and her husband were the retired owners of a Tom’s Peanut franchise in Fort Smith, AR. She is survived by her daughter Joan Gray of Las Vegas. Her husband John Meadows and son Jack Meadows preceded her in death She has six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Saint John’s Episcopal Church in Fort Smith, AR, Alzheimer’s Research or charity of your choice.
