Mary Elizabeth McNeel's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Paschall McNeel, 88, of Memphis, homemaker, died Tuesday evening at her home. She was born on November 8, 1921, in Fulton, KY. Mrs. McNeel was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Newton Paschall and Mary Hettie Fields Paschall; by her brother and sister-in-law, Eugene Fields Paschall and Rebecca Coombs Paschall; and by her husband of 60 years, Archie A McNeel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park. Mrs. McNeel was a faithful member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church for 54 years, where she served as pianist for the Fellowship Sunday School class. She also had an active role for many years in the United Methodist Women. During World War II, she worked as the administrative secretary at Union Avenue United Methodist Church. Mrs. McNeel leaves two sons, David Conner McNeel of Nashville and Thomas Eugene McNeel (Carol Ann) of Memphis; four grandchildren, Susan Grosmann (Alan) Johnson, Cheryl Grosmann Schott, and John Thomas McNeel, of Memphis; and Brett Andrew (Stephanie) Grosmann, of Hernando, MS; and four great-grandchildren, Justin Donald Schott, of Fort Benning, GA; Bailey Reed Johnson and Brooke Naomi Johnson, of Memphis; and Devin Tyler Grosmann, of Hernando, MS.
