Mary E. Landers' Obituary
Mary E. Landers passed away June 17th, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edgar Landers Jr. She was born in Tuscaloosa County Alabama May 12, 1921. She was a member of St Mathews United Methodist Church and active in United Methodist Women, her Sunday school class and circle. She was an avid community volunteer offering support to Meals on Wheels, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, the Magnevey House, and president of the Cherokee PTA. She was an officer in the Grand Lodge of Ladies Society of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Fireman and Engineers. She leaves her daughter, Linda Brashear, son in law, Craig and granddaughter Natalie. The family will hold visitation Saturday, June 20th beginning at 1:30 with the funeral immediately following at 2:30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar. The Family requests that memorials be made to the Church Health Center (1210 Peabody) or charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.
