Mary Kathryne Winn's Obituary
Mary Kathryne (Hurst) Winn, 92, went to be with our Lord Saturday, July 6, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett following a brief illness.Born in Savannah, Tennessee, she was the youngest of eleven children of Daniel Robinson and Ora Linam Hurst.Mrs. Winn was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-five years, Edward Gartly Winn.She is survived by her five children: David Winn of Memphis, Edward Winn (and wife Susan) of Thompsons’ Station, TN, Lisa Gould (and husband Bill) of Bartlett, Alan Winn (and wife Joanna) of Dahlonega, GA, and Marilu Clifton (and husband Michael) of Bartlett; thirteen grandchildren, Laura Nickelson (and husband Josh), Katie Gould, Jonathan Winn (and wife Emily), Michael Winn (and wife Katie), Melissa Gould, Daniel Winn, Bradley Gould (and wife Brianna), Mary Clifton, Marie Nichols (and husband Jay), Stephen Winn, Philip Winn, Andrew Winn and Lily Winn; and four great-grandchildren.Mary Kathryne was a longtime member and faithful servant at Faith Baptist Church, Berclair Baptist Church and Speedway Terrace Baptist Church, where she loved on many children as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher.She enjoyed reading, crocheting, coffee, and crossword puzzles, but most enjoyed loving on and spending time with Ed, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a wealth of other family and friends.Visitation will be held Monday, July 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home & Cemetery (Memphis). Visitation will also be held at Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett on Tuesday, July 9, at 1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow at Memphis Memory Gardens on Raleigh-LaGrange Rd. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
