Mary Sue Joslin's Obituary
Mary Sue Joslin “Sue” 74, of Como, MS, died on Monday evening, August 3, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital.She was preceded in death by her mother, Lila Mae Harmon of Water Valley, MS. Ms. Joslin was born in Eldorado, IL, on October 25, 1934, living most of her life in Memphis, until retiring to Como, MS where she spent the last 16 years. She was preceded in death recently by her husband of 56 years, the late James Joslin, on April 23, 2009. James and Sue were married on March 7, 1953, in Arlington, TN. Ms. Joslin attended Humes High School, and had been a co-owner of Vanucci’s Restaurant and a long time employee of Colettas Italian Restaurant before retiring.She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Strong (David) of Germantown, TN; a son, Darrell Joslin (April) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Karen Doherty (John) of Cordova, TN; an aunt, Anna Waits of Walls, MS; a brother Billy Wayne Henry, of Water Valley, MS, eight grandchildren; Joslin Baker, Denny Baker, Shelby Strong, Jordan Strong, Derrick Joslin, Jessica Joslin, Paul Doherty, Lindsay Doherty; three great grandchildren Grant Robison, Noah Joslin, Dilyn Doherty and four grandchildren of extended families.Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 7, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Pastor Sam Wiley of Central Church will be presiding over the services.In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Central Church (888-4673), Wings Cancer Foundation (683-0055) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
