Mary Elaine Jones' Obituary
Mary Elaine Jones passed peacefully at the Baptist Reynolds Hospice in Collierville, TN at 4:40 p.m. September 28, 2023.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. D. W. Jones, their son David Wayne Jones, his wife Stephanie and 5 grandchildren, Aden, Parker, Abigail, Canaan and Simone, a brother in Salem, AL, H. M. Bryce, a nephew William Bryce and two nieces, Anna Moreland and Elizabeth Stringfellow.
Mary Elaine graduated from the University of Maryland, 1960, and served as elementary school teacher in Maryland, Georgia and Mississippi. She also taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir at St. Luke's United Methodist Church and at the Germantown United Methodist Church for many years.
Mary Elaine was born January 31, 1939, in Silver Spring, MD, the daughter of Lt. Col. H. H. Bryce and Mary J (McCarthy) Bryce.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 6 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service 11:00 a.m. all in the Fireside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Interment will be at Crawford Methodist Church Cemetery in Crawford, AL October 21, 2023.
