Mary Allen Haden's Obituary
Mary Allen Haden
April 30, 1925 – March 9, 2023
Mary Allen Haden, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away after a long, wonderful life just a month away from her 98th birthday. She was known for her beauty that resounded in her sweet spirit and kind and loving soul, and she is greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Mary was born in Los Angeles, CA to Dr. and Mrs. Edward D. Jones, graduating from L.A. High School and attending The University of Southern California. She met the love of her life, Jean O. Haden when he left for war from Camp Pendleton and returned to marry her and start their family and marriage of 45 years. Mary was an active member in the Ebell Club of Los Angeles, The Assistance League, as well as a wartime Red Cross volunteer and hospital volunteer at The Shriner’s Hospital for Children and the Glendale Memorial Hospital.
Moving to Memphis, Tennessee to be near her daughter, Mary made countless new friends and was grateful for the wonderful caregivers who came to know and love her over the past nine years. She leaves us to be with our Lord, her parents, husband, and son James Edward. She leaves behind her beloved son John Osborn Haden and daughter Nancy Jeanne Haden (Juleson), her granddaughter Jennifer Brennan and grandson Douglas Haden.
Burial will be on Wednesday, March 15 at the Springfield National Cemetery where she will be forever together with her husband, our dear father. Rest in peace, sweet mother, our hearts hold your precious words to us, “I love you, always.”
