Mary Geisewite's Obituary
“Becky” Geisewite died peacefully on November 10, 2023. She was born in Nashville, TN on September 21, 1943. She is the daughter of Ralph Joseph Byers and Margaret Elizabeth (Keisling) Byers.
Becky graduated from West Main Township High in Des Plaines, Illinois in 1961 and attended Parson’s College where she met her husband Lawrence Edwin Geisewite who predeceased her. Becky was known for her cooking and her immense love for her family. Becky was a longtime volunteer with the Les Passee of Memphis, Women’s Exchange of Memphis, volunteer librarian for Presbyterian Day School and Hutchison School. Becky also was a real estate agent for Poplar Pike realty from 1982- 1984. Becky was also predeceased by her older brothers, Charles Arvin Byers and Ralph Joseph Byers, Jr.
Becky is survived by her two children, Lawrence Richard Geisewite and Laura Elizabeth (Bell) Geisewite. Becky is also survived by her six grandchildren, Tom Geisewite, Meg Geisewite, Kate (Geisewite) Latture, Drew Bell, Gracie Bell and Lucie Bell.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Thursday, November 16 from 5-7 p.m. with a graveside service to follow Friday November 17 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make donations to the following organizations: Memphis Humane, Society, The Reynolds Hospice House, and the Memphis Union Mission.
