Mary Elizabeth Curry's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Butler Curry, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday Nov. 21 at Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents Amanda Patrice Thompson Butler and Charles Paul Butler, Sr, and brother, Charles Paul Butler Jr. She was born on March 20, 1929 in Lexington, TN, graduated from Kosciusko High School, attended The University of Mississippi and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Mary found joy in cooking, traveling and scrap booking memories, music, gardening, volunteering at church, but most of all being with her family and friends. Her cheerful, fun loving personality and beautiful, warm smile will be remembered by all who knew her. Mary’s good nature and genuine love for others made her a role model as a wife and mother. Mary is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, John Edward Curry, her loving daughter, Mary Patrice Curry Pendergast, son-in-law Steve Pendergast, devoted son John Frierson Curry, daughter-in-law Lisa Camburn Curry and 6 grandchildren, Laura Pendergast Stevens, Jenna Pendergast, Jack Pendergast, Ian Curry, Abigail Curry and Aaron Curry. A private graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery-Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Methodist Hospice Residence
