Brindley, Mary Ruth's Obituary
Mary Ruth Brindley was born on March 14, 1946, in Memphis TN and died at age 78 on December 14, 2024.
Mary Ruth was a teacher for over 35 years and was well respected by her students, being referred to as “one of my all-time favorites” by many of them. She was a world traveler who led many trips. The memories from these travels created so many special bonds for so many people. She was also known throughout the Delta for her contributions to the Arts and dedication to The Brindley Theatre, originally named the Mid Delta Arts Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Ruth Evans and her loving husband John Milton Brindley of 48 years. She leaves a son, John Brindley and wife, Myra, and children, Claire and Collin, all of Memphis; a daughter, Anne Comer and husband, Ray, and children, Brindley and Allie, all of Aberdeen.
Faithful, funny, sincere, unwavering and a loving friend are a few words that family and friends use to describe Mary Ruth. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you remember Mary Ruth with a gift to First Methodist Church and The Brindley Theatre, all in Indianola.
