Mary Beth Beard's Obituary
Mary Beth Beard, 88, of Cordova, TN passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital-Bartlett. Mrs. Beard was born June 5, 1924 in Memphis, TN. She worked at Emery Air Freight until she retired in 1988. Mrs. Beard was a member of Oakhaven United Methodist Church for 40 years and a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for the last 13 years. She was a volunteer at Wesley Highland Manor for 25 years, loved square dancing and also loved the Lord and delighted with her church ministries. Mrs. Beard was a member of the Van Gandes American Airlines Retirees group. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don L. Beard, Jr; her son, Don L. Beard, III, 3 sisters, Margaret Wiggins, Mae Pashby and Kathleen Seebode; and is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Beard of Memphis, TN; and a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 and a funeral service will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, December 28, 2012 both at Memorial Park Funeral Home with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
