Mary Margaret Baldridge's Obituary
Mary Margaret Collins Baldridge, died October 2, 2015 at home in Sarasota, FL, after a long battle with the debilitating effects of hydrocephalus.Mary Margaret was born in Arkansas on August 8, 1924 and was raised in Memphis, TN. She was a loving mother and a stalwart, patient and understanding career military wife. In the 1950’s, when her husband was assigned by the Navy to the Washing ton, DC, area, she attended and graduated from the prestigious Phyllis Bell Modeling School as a runway model. Mary Margaret came to Sarasota in 1967 from Rockville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. In addition to being an avid tennis player and a charter member of the Bath and Racquet Club, she was a Lifetime Member of the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and served as a volunteer at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for over 25 years. Survivors include her husband of almost 71 years, CAPT Henry David Baldridge, Jr., U.S. Navy (Retired); their son, Henry David Baldridge III of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Cara Egan of Seattle, WA, Henry Davis Baldridge IV and Collen Denise Baldridge of Marietta, GA; two great grandchildren, Sophia Jacqueline Egan and Lily Clair Egan of Seattle, WA. There will be no visitation or local services. Toale Brothers Funeral Home is in charge in Sarasota. Inurnment will be in Memphis with Memorial Park Funeral Home in charge.
