Jeff, you probably remember that Mary was one of my closest friends at Union University where we lived in the same dorm and, later, when she lived in Memphis. She was one of the all around nicest people I have ever known. She was a considerate and loyal friend who was fun to be with and had a great sense of humor but also was smart and we shared serious conversations about life and our futures. I imagine the biggest reason we shared our friendship was our mutual respect for each other because we shared a love of Jesus Christ and tried to live our lives according to our beliefs.
We kept up with each other for years but, I suppose the challenges of life and family, and moves, that caused us to be far apart, caused us to lose contact. I am sad that happened but I never forget the positive part she played in so many years of my life.
I know, through her sister’s messages to my sister, that she was ill for many years which was a struggle for you and your children. I pray that it gives you comfort to hear, from others, what a marvelous woman she was. Love, Joan Davidson Enoch
