Born January 2, 1936 to Ray and Lorene Stennett, in Jackson, MS. Educated in Kosciusko, MS schools and graduated from Union University. Employed by Park Avenue Baptist Church as Education Secretary and Eudora Baptist Church as Youth Director before marrying Kenneth Armstrong. He proceeded her in death in 2017.
She worked for the Tennessee Department of Human Services and retired after 26 years as Program Supervisor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ray Stennett, Jr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Floyd Price and son-in-law John Cotton.
Surviving her are her daughters, Barbara Cotton and Vicki Tickle (Ronnie); Grandchildren, Nikki Huffman (Billy) and Ricky Almond (Angel); Great Grand Children Tyler Huffman and Taylor Huffman; and Great Great Grandson Eli Huffman; and one sister-in-law Janet Stennett.
Mrs. Armstrong was an active member of Audubon Park Baptist Church as long as her health permitted, serving as a Sunday school teacher. She loved gardening, fishing, being with her family and enjoying music.
Funeral Serivces for Mrs. Armstrong will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:00am at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Fireside Chapel. Visitaton will be held an hour prior to the service starting at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. After the burial, The Armstrong Family invites you for a reception in the Parkside Event Center at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
