Martha Ann McGinley's Obituary
Martha Ann Patterson McGinley, age 95, died on April 21, 2022 in Eads, Tennessee. Mrs. McGinley was the widow of Thomas J. McGinley and daughter of F.W. "Pat" Patterson and Callie Jordan Patterson. A lifetime Memphian, she graduated from Cummings Elementary and South Side High School, The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Memphis State University. She served as president of Graceland and Hillcrest Parent Teacher Association and board member of the Shelby County P.T.A. Council and was awarded a Lifetime P.T.A. Membership. She was a teacher and guidance counselor at Avon Lenox School for 36 years. Her love of travel took her on many adventures all over the world. A member of Friendship Force International for 30 years, she twice served as president of Memphis Friendship Force. She was also a Lifetime Girl Scout and member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She volunteered weekly at Saint Francis Hospital in Bartlett. An avid gardener, she was a member of the Cordova Garden Club and Memphis Rose Society. She leaves behind her two daughters, Merry Crow (Sidney) and Marcy DeStefanis (Steven), and four grandchildren, Reagan Crow, Cody Crow, Detric DeStefanis, and Dominic DeStefanis.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at Christ The King Lutheran Church in Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Monday, April 25, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In her memory, the family requests that friends send flowers to someone
they love.
