Martha Josephine Jamison Lonvick's Obituary
Martha Josephine Jamison Lonvick January 13, 1933 – January 10, 2019 Martha (Marty) Jamison Lonvick went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2019, just three days prior to her 86th birthday. Marty was born in Dallas, Texas, on January 13, 1933. She was the daughter of Kathleen MacDonald Jamison and Paul Hugus Jamison. She graduated from North Dallas High School where she made many lifelong friends. Marty was an active member at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Memphis where she sang in the choir, assisted with many church suppers and was involved with bible studies. Marty served as a docent at the Dixon Museum and participated in the Memphis Senior Olympics every year from 2006 through 2015, winning medals each time she competed. Marty was the beloved wife of Orvill Lonvick. They were married September 1, 1953, at Central Lutheran Church in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by her brothers Sonny Jamison, Bill Jamison and Sam Jamison; her sisters Patsy Middendorf and Peggy Langness, Mrs Lonvick leaves her husband, Orvill Lonvick; three children, Kathie Palmer (Chuck) of Atlanta, Chris Lonvick (Janet) of Houston, and Lisa Lonvick of Atlanta; four grandchildren, Ruth Lonvick, Sarah Lonvick, James Palmer and Kate Palmer; and her sisters Midge Whitson and Susie Rogers. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Sunday, January 13, at Christ the King Lutheran Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers you remember Mrs Lonvick with a donation to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5969 Park Ave., Memphis, Tennessee, 38119.
