Martha R. Hodges' Obituary
Martha R Hodges, 66, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2015. She is survived by her son, Scott and his wife Tanja. Preceded by her grandparents: Scott Richardson and Rowena Waggener, and on the other side, Herbert Wagoner and Cora Miller. She enjoyed to travel and was able to see much of the World. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (was a past president of her chapter), as well as Colonial Dames XVII Century (past state chairman), Magna Carta Dames (past secretary), and United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was a 20 year volunteer at the CHurch Health Center, and also was a volunteer at VA Hospital and won an award for her volunteer work with them last year 2014, in a spotlight article. Although she was born in Bowling Green KY, she moved to Covington TN in 1950, and then as a child she lived in Jackson TN for many years before relocating to Memphis for her teaching job. She was married to her husband, Larry Hodges for 17 years. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park on Wednesday, September 30 from 5:00-7:00PM. The funeral will be held at Germantown United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 1 at 2:30 with visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held Friday, October 2 in Smiths Grove Cemetery, Smiths Grove, KY at 12:30PM, 270 Beeler ST. Smiths Grove, KY 42171
