Martha Duncan's Obituary
Martha Francis (Polly) Duncan, 72, of Memphis, TN died on Friday, February 7, 2014, peacefully in her sleep. Born Friday, October 3, 1941 in Memphis Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Rachel Duncan. She had three brothers and one sister. She was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank January 1, 2004 after 39 years. She had been a member of the Salvation Army Church (Ben Lear Citadel) since 1953. Polly never married or had children; however, she did act as a second mom to her nephew, Michael Griffin. Polly is survived by her brother, Jimmy F. Duncan (Kathy) of Walls Mississippi. Nephew, John Michael Griffin (Jeanne) of Memphis, Tennessee. Nieces, Susan West (David) of Collierville, Tennessee and Karen Forsyth (Ricky) of Oakland, Tennessee. She also leaves behind many Great nieces and Great Nephews that were close to and loves Aunt Polly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter F. and Rachel L. (Wilbanks) Duncan. Two brothers, Eugene Duncan and Lee Duncan, and one sister, Ruby Griffin. A graveside is scheduled for Sunday February 9, 2014 at Memorial Park Cemetery. 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, Tennessee. 901-767-8930. Family visitation begins at 1:00 p.m. Public visitation is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Aunt Polly will be buried with her Mother, who is already welcoming her to her new Heavenly home.
