Martha Donley's Obituary
Martha Gertrude Brockington Donley, 91, formerly of Long Beach, MS, Columbia, SC, and a resident of the Memphis area for 14 years, went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2021. She was born on April 30, 1929 in Columbia, SC, to Mary Gertrude Gamble and Francis Scriven Brockington. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Joseph Malcolm Donley as well as her parents and siblings, Francis Scriven Brockington Jr. and Amelia Almira Ketchin. She graduated from Winthrop University with a BS in Home Economics. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, TN. She was a hospital volunteer for many years and enjoyed traveling, painting, cooking, reading, playing bridge and other games. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Beth Donley (Bob), Patricia Jane Donley (Jim), Martha Lynne Garner (Steve), and Barbara Joanne Sullivan (Mark); grandchildren, Michael Joseph Sullivan, Melissa Anne Keliikoa (Chris), Stephanie Lynne Garner, Ryan Bailey Garner, and Jessica Grace Sullivan; and great grandson Tyler Kai Keliikoa. The family requests that any donations in her memory be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
