Martha A. Crupie's Obituary
Martha Ann Bowen Crupie, 83 years old, of Memphis, TN passed away surrounded by family at Baptist Memorial Hospital, Memphis, TN on September 1, 2016. Ann was born on October 15, 1932 in Corinth, MS. She was the daughter of the late G.B. and Willard Bowen. Ann was married to Joseph Ettore Crupie, M.D. on December 20, 1953. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1995. Ann is survived by her two sons, Marc Joseph Marcellus Crupie, M.D. and Joel Navan Crupie. She also had four sisters, Flo Swanton (deceased), Margaret Ruplin, Jane Armour, and Gayle Price; two brothers, Bill Bowen (deceased) and Danny Bowen (deceased); two grandchildren, Joseph Ettore Crupie II and Kristin Lawanda Crupie; one great-grandchild, Joseph III; one daughter-in-law, Jeanett Crupie; one daughter-in-love, Miriam Brooks Hatley. Ann had many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly and many other sons- and daughters-in-love that held her so dear and she them. She was a giver, a lover, and a fighter known as “Ann”, “Tico”, “Memsob”, “Grandmaw”, “Aunt Ann”, “Mom”, “Mother”, and “Friend”, that never forgot a birthday, special occasion, doctor’s appointment follow up call, or just an ear to listen. Always the fashion maven, she kept her hair, nails, and wardrobe impeccable. She loved being mischievous and young of mind and spirit. Death leaves a heartache that nothing can heal but love leaves a memory that no one can steal. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., Wednesday, September 7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
