Martha Lynn Bohannon's Obituary
Martha Lynn Bohannon, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2025.
She is survived by her daughter, Lucy B. Bohannon; her brothers, Morgan D. Bohannon and John “Oakley” Bohannon Jr.; and her sister, Melba Worley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and John Oakley Bohannon Sr.
Martha lived her life with a quiet strength, a sharp wit, and a heart big enough to carry others through whatever season they were in. She showed up for people with compassion, patience, and unwavering loyalty, making everyone feel safe and supported. She was an extraordinary woman whose kindness, humor, and gentle spirit left an imprint everywhere she went.
The greatest joy of her life was her daughter, Lucy, who she proudly described as her life’s purpose and her greatest accomplishment. Their relationship was so close and so full of love that many would describe their relationship as “sisters” rather than mother and daughter. The bond they shared was truly rare and deeply cherished.
Martha worked for many years in customer service at Orgill Inc. Outside of work, she found her happiness in the simple, meaningful time spent with Lucy. She poured her heart into everything she did, and her generosity and kindness touched countless lives.
Martha will be remembered for her beautiful heart, unforgettable sense of humor, and radiant soul. Her love was a gift, and her presence will be missed beyond measure.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both at Memorial Park Funeral and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119.
