Marsha Keys Dayton's Obituary
Marsha Keys Dayton was born on Sept. 3, 1940 to Allan and Dorothy in Birmingham, MI, where she was also raised. She attended Hillsdale College and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Home Economics. She met Thomas J. Dayton Sr. in New York City in 1963, with whom she remained happily married for 47 years. Together, they lovingly raised Julia, Anne, and Thomas, Jr. The Daytons moved to Germantown in 1978. It felt like home. Passionate about knitting, Marsha co-owned A Stitch Above in the 1980’s. In more recent years, she sold real estate for Crye-Leike. She was an active member of Second Presbyterian, and enjoyed being a part of the Suburban Garden Club. Marsha lived for her children and grandchildren. She instilled in them the importance of family, a love of travel, and the benefit of cultivating one’s innate gifts. Marsha passed away on December 21, 2012 and is survived by her deovted husband Tom, daughter Julia and son-in-law Jeff Eberwein, of Old Greenwich, CT; daughter Anne Dayton, of New York, NY; son Thomas of Memphis, TN; and her beloved grandchildren, Anna, Sophia, Thomas, Chloe, and Ava. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday December 23, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will take place at Second Presbyterian, 4055 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN, at 10 a.m. on Monday December 24, 2012.
