Mark Robbins Patterson's Obituary
Mark Robbins Patterson, went home to be with Jesus, January 28 2024, surrounded by loving family. He was born March 11, 1959, to Walter "Glenn" and Mary Robbins Patterson, in Greensboro, NC
He grew up in Boone, NC, and graduated from Watauga School in 1977, and later that year he joined the US Coast Guard. He was stationed on a Icebreaker and traveled to the North Pole, South Pole and Antarctica, Alaska, Panama. and had many port stops around the world. He crossed the equator twice.
After leaving the ship, he was stationed in Miami, FL, Atlantic Beach, NC, Elizabeth City NC, and Chesapeake, VA. He then was stationed in Memphis on the Mississippi River. He was given many awards and commendations for his service, throughout the he years.
After 22 years, he retired, and went to work for the Internal Revenue Service. While working there he also traveled with his work, and made many friends around the country. He worked there until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael.
He leaves behind his wife, Connie Mast Patterson, son Stephen Bradley Patterson, and wife Kala. He also leaves his precious granddaughter, Reyna Brooke. He leaves his sister, Tami Patterson, brother Timothy Patterson, and brother, Scott Patterson, several nieces and nephews, an aunt, an uncle, and many cousins. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Dennis Lawson, and Doug Mast.
There will be a memorial scheduled at a later date.
