Mark Milner Jernigan's Obituary
Mark Milner Jernigan went home to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025 at the age of sixty-four. Mark had professed his faith in Jesus Christ as Savior at an early age and loved the Lord with all his heart. The youngest of three children, Mark was born on December 21, 1960 and was raised in Memphis by loving Christian parents Marian and Gene Jernigan. He is survived by his sister, Diane Jernigan Cothran (Jac) of Brentwood, TN and brother Dick Jernigan (Marty) of Nesbit, MS. He also leaves his nieces Anna Cothran, Megan Robertson (Jimmy), Ashlynn and Avery Robertson, Lexie Patrick (Cooper), Katie Ryder, and nephews Jeff Martin (Tammy) and Bailey Ryder (Miriam) as well as other cherished relatives and lifelong friends. Throughout Mark’s life, he was an incredibly dedicated and industrious team member. At FedEx, his cost-saving idea for the hub when implemented resulted in a more efficient process. While with Purina (Nestle) he annually received awards for top sales. As a twenty-five year commercial driver with Yellow Freight, he earned the distinguished Million Mile award for miles driven without a preventable accident. Those who walked through life beside Mark will long remember his strong work ethic and extremely generous heart. The family will not hold a funeral service but asks for and appreciates your prayers.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, 38119 (901) 767-8930 "Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924."
