Mark Hopkins' Obituary
Marcus Franklin Hopkins passed away at age 65 unexpectedly, at his home in Memphis, TN on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Mark was born in Springfield, MO on April 10, 1951. There he attended St. Agnes Catholic School, Parkview High School and Missouri State University.Working most of his life in the automotive industry in Memphis, he spent the last 15 years working with City Enterprises. Mark was known for his huge heart and philanthropy, involved with Dream Factory, Crohns and Colitis Foundation, and St. Jude charities. He loved golf, spending time at Table Rock Lake, boating, and working in his yard. Mark never met a stranger. He loved visiting with neighbors, all animals, entertaining friends, and spending time with his family.Mark was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ben and Dorothy Hopkins, mother-in-law Betty Kendrick and brother, Ben Hopkins Jr. He is survived by the love of his life, Vicki Kendrick Hopkins, his wife of 43 years and their beloved dog Tag. Sisters; Katy Loving (Leroy), Debbie Hopkins, Judy Lohmeyer (Mike), Kim Will (Randy), and Loura Hopkins. Sisters-in-law; Kari Hopkins, Janet Jones (Steve) and Diane Dufresne. Brother-in-law; Ed Loving. Nieces and nephews; Erin Dufresne, Somer Weber (Kelly), Samantha Cotton, Lisa Yoakam (Jeff), Missy Alexander, David Loving (Kristina), Heather Robbins (Kevin),Holly Butler (Clint), Dustin Hopkins (MeKenzie), Mark Lohmeyer (Nicole), Sally Breedlove (Tommy), Benny Lohmeyer (Meika), Sarah Childress (Robert), Chase Marable and 14 grand nieces and nephews. His Godchildren; Lisa Yoakam, Mark Lohmeyer, and Tucker Fox.There will be a celebration of Mark’s life from 1-3 p.m. Thurs-day, October 6 at Ridgeway Country Club, 9800 Poplar Avenue, Germantown, Tennessee. Memorial gifts may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Humane Society, or Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.Mark was one of a kind, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
