Mark Rogers Coleman III's Obituary
Mark Rogers Coleman III, affectionately known as Roger, passed away June 8, 2024, at the age of 64. His life was marked by both triumphs and struggles.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 19, 1960, as a beloved son to Mark Rogers Coleman Jr. and Claire Tansey Coleman, Roger was immensely talented. He was an accomplished drummer and was naturally gifted at all things mechanical, spending most of his work life in the commercial printing and residential construction industries.
Roger navigated a complex journey. His battle with addiction cast a shadow over his life, leading to a two-decade estrangement from his family. Despite these obstacles and the resulting broken relationships, he was much more than his struggles.
Though he faced challenges as a father, there were moments of joy. Roger’s children, Mark Coleman (Hallie) and Katherine Coleman Milbourne (Clint), fondly recall those times when they shared laughter and cherished memories with their father. These glimpses of connection remind us that even in adversity, love and shared experiences can endure.
In addition to his two children, Roger is also survived by his mother, Claire, and his brother, Bob Coleman (Deborah) as well as grandchildren and nieces. Claire’s unwavering love and Bob’s steadfast support sustained Roger through difficult times. Their resilience and compassion exemplify the bonds of family, transcending pain and disappointment.
We pay tribute to Angela Coleman, his surviving wife, who brought a measure of comfort to Roger through his tribulations.
Remember Roger not solely for his struggles but for the moments of light he brought into our lives. May his family and all who knew him find solace in the memories that endure.
