Marjorie D. Mader's Obituary
Marjorie D. Mader (nee Berling), 94, of Memphis passed into eternal life on June 19, 2023 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Louis Mader, Sr., and her parents Frederick I. Berling and Bertha Sandman Berling.
Marge is survived by her children Kathy (Greg) Cates, Bob,Jr. (Joyce-deceased) Mader, Don (Edye)Mader, and John (Kay) Mader; 5 grandchildren, Patience (Chris) Pierce, Beth Mader, Anthony Mader, Kristy (Rob) Robertson, and Andrew (Shelby) Mader; as well as six great grandchildren, Alyssa, Kelsey, and Kaitlyn Pierce, and Bennett, Caroline, and Anne Collier Robertson.
She was born in 1929 and spent her early life in northern Kentucky, before relocating with the family to Memphis in 1961 for Bob's career with Dover Elevator Co.
Marge and Bob were devoted to their faith and were very active members of St. Louis Catholic Church.
She was a daily communicant for many years, and loved working at the church for 43 years, retiring at age 84. She was happiest when being involved in church activities, making rosaries and baptismal bibs for the church, entertaining, and spending time with her family and dear friends.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, is in charge of the services. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Friday June 23, at Memorial Park. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am Saturday, June 24, at St. Louis Catholic Church. A private interment will be at a later date.
The family is most grateful for all who tenderly cared for our mother during her illness.
