Marilynn Latta's Obituary
Marilynn Wherry Latta, 85, of Memphis, formerly of Chattanooga, TN and Martinsville, VA passed away January 18, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital. Mrs. Latta was born in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Senator and Mrs. Kenneth Spicer Wherry. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and a sister of P.E.O. Mrs. Latta was a graduate of George Washington University. She was preceded in death by her husband Burr Latta, and a grandson, John Burr Latta. Mrs. Latta is survived by her daughter, Ann Higgins (Rick), son, Dr. James Burr Latta (Jennie), brother, Dr. David C. Wherry (Ceny), and five grandchildren, Robert Wherry Latta (Megan), Kenneth Spicer Latta, David Stuart Latta, Evelyn Teresa Latta, and Judith Catherine Latta. Mrs. Latta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday also at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
