Marilyn Taylor Heppel's Obituary
Marilyn Taylor Heppel, 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Saturday, December 19, 2015. Mrs. Heppel was born in Rolla, MO to James and Lenora Combs Taylor on November 24, 1923. She was an avid reader who loved gardening, knitting and needlepointing gifts for her family and friends. Mrs. Heppel was an accomplished cook and artist. She was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, LeBonheur Club, Memphis Country Club, and International Order of The King’s Daughters and Sons. Mrs. Heppel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who also adored her dogs. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Philip S. Heppel, she is survived by her children, Scott Heppel (Carolyn), Phyllis Valentine (Chip), and Chris Heppel (Cissy); grandchildren, Chris Valentine, Maryl Smith (Joel), Meredith Heppel, and Phillip Heppel; and great grandchildren, Alex and Kaki Smith. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until her funeral service begins at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 23 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private burial with her family will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and love to Evylean Mathis, Rose Williams, and Rhonda Chambers for the wonderful care they gave their mother.
