Marilyn P Benskin's Obituary
Marilyn P. Benskin, 84 of Bartlett, TN passed away on January 27, 2009 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memphis. She was a long time member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mrs. Benskin was a retired realtor and a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club. She volunteered for many Memphis Area Organizations including, City Beautiful Commission, The Madonna Circle, Make-a-Wish, Meals on Wheels, and an usher for the Orpheum. Mrs. Benskin is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Forrest Benskin. They were united in marriage on November 9, 1946 at the U.S. Ordinance Test Station in China Lake, CA. She is survived by three daughters and their husbands; Madonna Bond (Billy), Teresa Spellings (Earl), and Mary Jones (Dennis) all of Arlington, her son; Mark Benskin of Sacremento, CA, a brother; Mike Phelan of Chicago, IL and a sister, Mary Lou Phelan of Wichita Falls, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, West Bond, Laura Cheseldine, Mandy Cooley, Missy Garner, Elon Spellings, Samantha Jones, Mark Stephen Benskin, Jr., David Benskin, Jack Benskin, and Corwin Benskin. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren that were the light of her life. The visitation will be held 5-7-pm, Thursday, January 29th at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery with a Rosary to be said at 7pm. The funeral mass will be held 10:00 am, Friday, January 30th at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 8151 Chimneyrock Blvd., Cordova, TN. Memorials may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
