Marie Clark Ramey's Obituary
Marie Clark Ramey, 90, of Piperton passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at her residence. She was born August 4, 1921, in Reno, Arkansas, to the late Ovid Allen and Minnie Clark. She received a Bachelor’s Degree from Mississippi State College for Women (currently Mississippi University for Women). Mrs. Ramey was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church where she was president of the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday school and Community Bible Study. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, John Randolph Ramey, Jr; sisters, Allene Clark Gardner, Maggie Love Clark Bean; brother, Ovid Arnold Clark; and is survived by her daughters, Ramelle Ramey Wess (Tom) of Collierville, Jean Ramey Hudson (Larry) of Collierville, and Dianne Ramey Pitner (John) of Somerville, TN; son, John R. Ramey, III (Jamie) of Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Bruce Anders, Jr., J.C. Wess, Lauren Sumner, Ragan Pitner, Sarah Ramey and Jack Ramey; 5 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until service time at 1:00 at Piperton United Methodist Church with the interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery-Memphis. The family requests memorials to be sent to Piperton United Methodist Church.
