Marie Smart Davis' Obituary
On May 6, 2022, Marie Smart Davis passed away in her sleep. She was 92 years old. Marie was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Arthur W. Davis, her brother Albert Smart and sisters Dorothy Amagliani and Doris Mischley. Marie is survived by her nephews Eugene Amagliani, Mike Amagliani, and Mike Smart and by her nieces Marie Murrah and Pat Gimmel and her extended family Ken and Rosemary Martin
Marie was a long-time employee of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, where she worked as an executive assistant. Throughout her marriage, she and her husband traveled the world making friends with everyone they met. They were active in social clubs and had a large group of friends. When Marie retired, she and her husband moved to the town of Salida, Colorado. Marie remained active in her retirement. She was a skier until the age of 82 and was an officer in several associations and was known for her kindness and gentle nature. She was a voracious reader and worked crossword puzzles in ink daily. Marie was a fixture in the small town, everyone in town knew her by name and she greeted everyone by name. Marie returned to Memphis in 2014 where she and her beloved sister, Dot, spent many hours shopping and enjoying each other’s company.
The family will miss her dearly and invites you to join them for a memorial service at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Visitation at 10 am with a service to follow at 11 am, then interment.
