Marica Gayle Hackler's Obituary
Marcia Gayle Hackler, age 68, died December 20, 2022. She was born February 19, 1954, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1972. She graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1975 and worked in the Baptist Hospital system for 33 years. Her favorite assignment was working on the mother-baby floor of the hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Clara Ruth Hackler, and her nephew by marriage, Micah Sexson. She is survived by her sister, Teresa Phillips, her brother-in-law, Grisham Phillips, her niece, Courtney Sexson, her great nieces, Daphne Sexson, Kaylee Sexson, and Aubrey Sexson, her great nephew, Noah Sexson, an aunt, Jessie Hackler, and cousins Kathy Cooper, Steve Hackler, and Kay Barfield, and her rescue chihuahua, Snickers.
She was an active member of First Evangelical Church where she had many friends. Even after her health declined, she attended class and church services and participated via Zoom. At the time of her death, she lived in Cordova, Tennessee.
Even though she lived most of her life in Tennessee, Marcia was born and raised in Arkansas and rooted for the Razorbacks every chance she got. Marcia was a longtime labor and delivery nurse at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. The most important job title she had was "Aunt Marcy" which was bestowed upon her over 40 years ago.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday December 27, 2022, at First Evangelical Church at 11:00 am with a visitation starting at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Edgewood Cemetery in North Littlerock on Thursday December 29th at 2:30pm.
