Marianne Ball Tucker passed away on December 6, 2025, in Dublin, OH. She was born on January 9, 194,3 in Memphis, T,N to Pauline Raines Ball and Thomas Kirby Ball. After graduating from Central High School in 1961, she attended Purdue University. She was active in Delta Gamma sorority, even after graduation. Marianne met her beloved husband J. David Tucker in college, who was also from Memphis. After graduation, they married and moved to St. Louis. There they travelled for David’s jobs and along the way they had Bob in Alvin, TX in 1968. One of their many adventures together as a family was moving to Aruba for 3 years. After coming back to the states in 1978, they added to their family with Beth in Woodward, OK.
In 1979, they moved back to Memphis together, where they were active at the Germantown United Methodist Church Fellowship Forum Sunday school class along with many other clubs and organizations. She switched careers in the late 80’s from a high school teacher to a Real Estate Agent. She thrived as a Relocation Agent, selling homes to new Memphians and keeping those clients close as friends.
After retirement, David and Marianne moved to Suwanee, GA, to be close to Bob’s family and help caretake for David when he fell ill with Alzheimer’s. After his death, Marianne followed Bob to Dublin, OH, where she was the unofficial “Welcoming committee” for the Dublin Retirement Village.
She will be missed by her son, Robert “Bob” Tucker (Sara), and daughter Elizabeth “Beth” Obrochta (Andy), three grandchildren (Luke Tucker, Lilian Obrochta, and Payton Obrochta).
