Marianne Bork's Obituary
Marianne Bork, 87, graciously passed away on December 30, 2013. She was born in Detroit on May 16, 1926. Marianne’s true joys during her life were her large family and a good game of bridge with friends. She grew up as an only child and loved having a big family and all the activity and adventures that went along with it. She was also immensely proud of her children’s and grandchildren’s spouses and considered herself very fortunate to have them added to her family along the way. We will remember her for her simple love of chocolate kisses, playing two-handed bridge at lunch every day with our dad, and her requirement of a single ice cube in her small glass of wine. She was simply a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Richard J. Bork; children, Joanne Sharp, Kathleen Stacy (Guy), Patricia Burlette (Terry), Michael Bork (Denise), Carol Lechtenberg (Paul), and Mary Harris (Steve); grandchildren, Ryan Sharp, Brian Stacy, Brent Burlette, Scott Burlette, Jeff Burlette, Jessica DiFatta, Chris Bork, Marci Bork, Kyle Lechtenberg, Steven Harris; and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 12 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1 p.m., Friday, January 3 in the chapel of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”
