Margie Carroll Jamison's Obituary
Margie Carroll Jamison, age 81, passed away peacefully on December 15th, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Mark Jamison; her daughter, Karen Donnelly; her brothers, Jesse and Charlie Stivers; and her sister, Elaine Render. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Orpha Stivers; her brothers Chester, Johnny, and Jerry Stivers; and her sisters, Brenda Barron and Wanda Kucher.
She was the eldest daughter of eight siblings and her mom passed away at the early age of 54. She quickly became the maternal figure to her younger siblings. She took that nurturing demeanor throughout her raising of two children and later with her two grandchildren, Claire Donnelly and Arabella Linger.
Margie spent her entire life selflessly taking care of her family with grace and love. Margie was married for 58 years to her husband, Denny Jamison. They were married and lived in Shelbyville, KY for many years. They moved to Tennessee to be closer to their daughter and granddaughter in 2001.
They moved with their daughter and son-in-law, Joe Donnelly, to Memphis in July of this year. Margie worked for many years as a seamstress at Lee McClain Clothing Factory in Shelbyville, KY. Later in life, she worked as the head housekeeper for Holiday Inn in Columbia, TN until March 2020 when she officially retired.
Outside of work, she found her happiness spending time with her son, daughter, and granddaughters Claire and Arabella. There was nothing she loved more than reminiscing with her brothers and sisters about her childhood and then sharing those memories with her children and grandchildren.
Margie will be remembered for her caring spirit and her love for her family. Her spunky personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will host a celebration of life in Shelbyville, KY, in spring 2026.
