I always appreciated that Peggy extended her friendship with my mother Helen to me. She and Bill “adopted” me when I moved to the Washington DC area and she always made sure to check in on me every once in a while to make sure all was well. After the passing of my own mother, this was a very important link for me and her kindness filled my heart whenever I spoke with her. I wish all the best to the family and know that she will be missed. But her love will live on forever not only on the hearts of her family but also in those who were blessed with knowing her.

The sweet picture of young Peggy shows a curious, pleasant, bright, eager young woman, unaware of all the places she would go and services she would perform but fully ready for all of them. That spirit continued until the years when we knew her, helping Bill constantly, trying to organize groups for trips to art sites, and sharing her faith. We will think about all of you on Thursday, as we are today (the 17th), Peggy's birthday.

Sincerest condolences to Bill and family. My treasured memories are of Peggy donating hours of time on the AAUW book sale. She contributed her knowledge to the category of Art and Art History. In the later years Bill would be at her side helping to box up the books that Peggy selected. She was always there for the book sale days and was a faithful attendee at branch meetings, a friend to all.She will be missed.

It was with great sadness that I received the news of Peggy’s passing. She was the sweetest, most gentle person I have ever known. I was privileged to have known her and called her my friend. Our neighborhood is not the same without her presence. Peggy had a way of bringing people together in warm friendship. Her intrepid spirit lives on in her beautiful daughter, son and grandchildren. Peggy’s light shines bright through her beloved family and friends.
May her soul rest in peace!

When I moved into the Wolf Den community in 2003, Peg was the head of its book club. Several years after joining, I took over the leadership and Peg assumed the "emeritus" role. She truly enjoyed our bimonthly get-togethers and contributed with thoughtful comments and analysis, reflecting her pedagogical roots. I was very touched by Peg's regular thank-you notes to me for managing the club - a simple example of her kindness and grace. She was a lady of integrity and deep values who loved her family and community and will be deeply missed.

Peggy loved to play bridge and was very competitive. She and I played bridge in Alliance at the very competitive duplicate group and win 1/3 of a master point. It was such a fond memory for many years.

Peggy also loved road trips. I have memories of driving across Nebraska with her. We loved the Sand Hills of Nebraska. She was an amazing sister. So proud of her family.
