Margaret Lee's Obituary
Margaret B. Lee, age 85, of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Born on February 6, 1940, in Paris, Tennessee, Margaret was the daughter of William Clifton Bucy and Ruth McDaniel Bucy. Throughout their lives, her parents were farmers in the community, known for their hospitality, family meals, and strong faith.
Margaret devoted many years to being the church secretary at Highland Church of Christ in Memphis, where she had the gift to make people feel welcome, that they mattered, and that their problems were important. She found joy in taking walks, enjoying morning coffee, reading, and gardening. She will be remembered for her compassion, smile, humor, and laughter.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Lee and Clif Lee; her grandchildren, Hannah and Emma Lee; and her sister, Linda Matson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of many years, Tharon Lee, and siblings Betty Ruth (infancy), Barbara Packhill, Danny Bucy, Vicki Wilson, Ginna Lanius.
A family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM., at the Highland Church of Christ Chapel, located at 400 N. Houston Levee, Cordova, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one of Highland’s funds supporting Adoption, Foster Care, or the Women’s Prison Ministry in Henning, or to HopeWorks of Memphis. In memory of Margaret, you might also take a walk to enjoy the beauty of nature and pause for reflection.
Margaret’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
