A life-long Memphian, Margaret was born August 13, 1919 to Margaret and Clarence Oscar Terry. She was proud of her heritage that started in 1877 when her grandfather, Robert A. Terry, built a home on what is now Vollintine Avenue. A dairy and hundreds of acres were added until it was known as Terrytown. Margaret attended Belhaven College and Memphis Art Academy, then married Warren in 1941. They were devoted members of First Baptist Church where her services included leadership in the WMU and managing the church library. She was a member of Coterie for many years and served as its president for a term. She was employed by the public library system for 11 years. Frequent family outings to the Gulf coast and to Pickwick Lake delighted her almost as much as her travels abroad.
