Margaret Heilman's Obituary
Margaret C. Heilman, born October 30, 1922 in Springfield, TN, passed away on October 4, 2014 at Primacy Healthcare. Margaret’s 91 years were filled with love, devotion, and faith. Raised durring The Depression, Margaret had to leave school at an early age to take care of her sick mother and younger brothers. The lessons learned during The Depression would impact her life, the raising of her sons, caring for her home, instilling integrity and discipline, and a commitment guided by a strong faith in her Lord and Savior. Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Walter E. Heilman. Margaret met Walter while he was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky during WW2. After his discharge, they moved to Memphis and raised their three sons, Dale Heilman, Kenneth Heilman, and George Heilman (deceased). Margaret was also preceded in death by her loving parents, George and Mae Knight and her brothers, Jewel and Joseph Knight. In addition to her sons, Margaret is survived by her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Margaret was a long time and faithful member of Colonial Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the caring members of Colonial for their great kindness as well as the staffs of Primacy Healthcare and Crossroads hospice for their excellent commitment and care of Margaret. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:30 to 11:30 with the service immediately following. Service and burial will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
