Margaret Wright Haynes' Obituary
Margaret Wright Haynes, 78 of Somerville, TN passed unexpectedly on February 13, 2024. She was born on May 11, 1945 in Springhill, Louisiana the daughter of Ernest Shirley Wright and Grace Bennett Neill Wright.
Margaret was a member of Oak Lane Christian Church in Collierville and formerly of St. James United Methodist Church in Memphis. She loved and was loved by both church families and she impacted many lives. She deeply valued her childhood friends and enjoyed visiting with them and caring for them when needed. She valued most her role as Nana to her four grandchildren. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling with family or friends to the beach or mountains, and anywhere in between. She even walked up Diamondhead in Hawaii wearing flip-flops.
Margaret was proceeded in death by her husband of 31 years, Donald Wayne Haynes, and we are comforted that they are reunited. Also proceeding her in death is her big brother James Albert Wright.
Margaret is survived by her much younger twin brother Michael Wright of Kenner, LA and her children Bryant Haynes (Melissa) of Olive Branch, MS and Jennifer Moffatt (Ashley) of Sommerville, TN. She had four amazing grandchildren who she completely adored. Hayley Grace Moffatt, Madison Ashley Moffatt, Cian Wayne Haynes and Brennan Neil Haynes. Also survived by her sister-in-law Kathy Wright of Knoxville, TN, children Patrick, John, Sarah, and Brendan as well as her brother-in-law A.F. Hall and niece Stacie Hall.
A celebration of her life and eternal destiny will be held in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Memphis at 2:00 on Saturday February 17 with visitation starting prior at 1:00. If preferred, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oak Lane Christian Church, Collierville, TN.
