Margaret Luvenia Hawkins Bivens' Obituary
Margaret Luvenia Hawkins Bivens, born on August 29, 1926, in Moscow TN, sadly passed away on December 15, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, Mimi and friend who was described by all as being “so sweet”. She always offered support and an abundance of love to everyone she met. Margaret worked at South Central Bell for 42 years and loved her job until her retirement in 1991. After retirement she volunteered at McWherter Senior Center in Memphis and moved to Kirby Pines Retirement Community. She was a member of Underwood UMC for 50 years and then Colonial Park UMC. She was predeceased by her parents Dave and Mary Etta Rodgers Hawkins at a young age, husband James Byron Bivens Sr, brother Frank Hawkins and sister Marie Atkeison. She leaves behind her daughter Brenda Gail Trantina (Vic), son James Byron Bivens Jr (Tami), four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Avenue on December 19, 2024, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. with burial immediately following officiated by Rev. Dr. Birgitte French of Colonial Park United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Susan G. Komen or Colonial Park UMC.
