Marcelle Farrow's Obituary
Marcelle Wiseman Farrow, age 87, died on July 16, 2017. She was born on December 6, 1929 in Benton Co., TN to the late John H and Myrtle Bain Wiseman. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Farrow; brothers, Bain, Tillman, and Fay Wiseman, all of Camden, TN; sister, Annelle Rushing of Nashville, TN. She is survived by sons, Mark Farrow of Germantown and John Farrow of Huntsville, AL; special granddaughter, Agatha Broyles of Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Diane Bell of Camden, TN and Garlene Stevens of Daphne, AL; and nephews, Jim and Luther Wiseman of Camden, TN, and George Wiseman of California. Following graduation from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville, Marcelle worked as UT Extension Home Agent in Crockett Co., TN, taught at J. B. Young High School in Bemis, TN. She received a Master’s Degree in Education at the University of Memphis and taught hospitalized/homebound students for Shelby County Schools for 30 years. She was a volunteer teacher for Memphis Literacy Council and following retirement from Shelby County Schools, she was a volunteer tutor for Memphis Adopt-A-School program for several years. Marcelle was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held on July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar with funeral services to follow at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
