Maizie Vernon's Obituary
Maizie Young Vernon, 97, of Shohola, PA and formerly of Memphis, TN passed away Sunday August 29, 2010 in Port Jervis, NY. She was a retired Teacher for Memphis City School District, Memphis, TN. A former long time member of Union Avenue Methodist Church, Memphis, TN, and a member of the Good Shepherd and St. John the Evangelist Church, Milford, PA. She was born December 17, 1912 in Hardaman County, TN. She was married to the late Sherman Vernon. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Janine Vernon of Shohola, PA; her niece June Fitzgerald of Memphis, TN; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Richard Vernon in 2006. Friends may call at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN on Saturday September 4, 2010 from 2 to 2:30 p.m.. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN.
