Mae Graves Krotzer's Obituary
Mae Graves Krotzer of Memphis, TN passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013. She was born on June 2, 1917 in Huntersville, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josie and Ernest Lane, her sister, Mrs. Pansy Sanders, her brothers, J.D. Lane and Frank Lane, her son, Tom Graves and her son-in-law Charles Hromada. She was the wife of J.T. Graves for 47 wonderful years. After he passed away she was happily married to John W. Krotzer for 16 years. She is survived by her daughter, Frankie Hromada, her daughter-in-law, Toby Graves and her six grandchildren: Susan McCandless (David), Patty Hutchison (Tim), Laurie Berry (Shell), John Graves (Kristy), Paul Graves (Christy) and Josh Graves (Cindy). She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. Life for “Nanny” as everyone affectionately called her, consisted of faith, family and friends. She worshipped through the years at Ararat Baptist, Bellevue Baptist, Antioch Baptist and Lakeland First Baptist where she was a mentor, teacher and prayer warrior. She loved her family dearly and every new grandchild was “the sweetest one yet!” She was a fierce Canasta and Rook Competitor with friends as they enjoyed meals and games together through the years. She was also a Maiden in the Strawberry Festival in Humboldt, TN in 1935. She will be greatly missed, but we are so grateful that she is with Jesus–where she wanted to be. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, December 30 and funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 31 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
