Madeline T. Rodriguez's Obituary
Madeline Theresa Brown Rodriguez, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, fell softly into God’s waiting arms on Friday, February 24th. Her years of pain would be no more and she is now able to reunite with her beloved husband in heaven. “Madge”, as she was lovingly called by her many friends, was born September 20th, 1932, in Roaring Spring, PA, the daughter of Palmer Brown and Mabel Miller Brown of Roaring Spring, PA. Madge graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in PA in 1949 before marrying William Ceasor Rodriguez of Hollidaysburg, PA on July 18, 1953. The two of them lived in Memphis, TN where they raised four sons. She was a member of Underwood United Methodist Church in Memphis and was very active in the Jackson Doll Club as her collection of dolls was special to her. After her husband Bill’s retirement, the two moved to Bells, TN where they became members of Forest Heights United Methodist church in Jackson. She lived out her life spoiling her ten grandchildren rotten, teaching them how to bake, walk outside barefooted in the grass, the joys of shopping, and sharing stories about the family growing up. Bill was her only love and they were able to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in 2015 with all of their children, grandchildren and faithful friends. Their four wonderful sons are, William III (Karleen), Randall (Beth), Bret (Lisa), and Brooke (Suzanne) and they have ten very special grandchildren, Christina, William, Daniel, Amanda, Rachel, Alexander, Nathaniel, Isabel, Brooke and Colin. Madge is predeceased in death by her parents, sister Joanne, and husband Bill. She also leaves to cherish her memory sister Joyce (Jack) Yingling of Claysburg, PA; brothers Palmer (Carolyn) Brown Jr. of Duncansville, PA; and Daniel (Linda) Brown of Duncansville, PA. Her faithful caregivers, Cindy Roe and Deborah Evans, were always there for her and will miss her dearly. She was a “mother” and “grandmother” to many, always treating everyone as family. Madge loved her family with all her heart. We will miss her jovial laugh when she was telling a funny story and the tight hugs we all got each and every time we visited. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee in the memory of Madeline T Rodriguez. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
