Mable Agnes Higginbotham's Obituary
Mable Agnes Wheeler Higginbotham, 85, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Monday, February 19, 2018, at Kirby Pines Estates in Memphis. She was born May 1, 1932, in Enondale, Mississippi, to the late Elvin Lieutenant “E.L.” Wheeler, Sr. and Eunice Lunsford Wheeler. She made her lifelong home with her husband, the late Grover L. Higginbotham, and her family in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1952 and retired from Sears after many years of dedicated employment. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Grover L. Higginbotham; one brother, Jarman Leo “J.L.” Wheeler; and three sisters, Berta Hathcock, Eleanor Vanhoy and Velma Moncrief.She is survived by one brother, Elvin L. Wheeler, Jr. of Macon, Georgia; two sisters: Ruth Noland of Brandon, Mississippi and Dorothy Craven of Ramseur, North Carolina; four sons: Louis Higginbotham and wife, Judy of Orange Park, Florida; Bob Higginbotham and wife, Teresa of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Larry Higginbotham of Southaven, Mississippi; David Higginbotham and wife, Kathy of Bartlett, Tennessee; one daughter, Lorie Higginbotham of Olive Branch, Mississippi; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.She was a dedicated, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She loved her church and her faith ran deep. Her precious smile, infectious laugh, and her beautiful singing will truly be missed but her spirit will always live within us through the rest of our lives.
