Mabel L. Butrum's Obituary
Mabel L. Butrum passed from this life to her next on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the age of 95. Her life encompassed her love of God, family, music, and sports.She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, Eva and Arthur Olsen, her brothers, Don and Warren, and her grandson, Shawn Butrum.Mabel is survived by her children Bruce (Sue) Butrum, Sharon (John) Adams, and Donna (Mike) Callaway, and numerous family and friends. This “grand” lady was grandmother to Brian Butrum, Callie Callaway Beaver, Mickey Callaway, and Casey Callaway, and to seven beautiful and handsome “greats” (Jackson Butrum, Cate and Madeline Callaway, Ella, Elise, and Eryn Beaver, and Wriggs Callaway).She was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church where she played piano for the Adult Sunday School class. The way she lived her life was “music” to all who knew and loved her.A special thanks to the staff at Applingwood Healthcare Center who cared for her as if she was their own and to Crossroads Hospice at the end of her journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of your choice.Visitation will be held Monday, January 28, 2019 from 11:30 – 12:30 with service to follow at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel on Poplar Avenue.
