Lynne Sweatt's Obituary
Lynne Robertson Sweatt, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 11, 2019. Mrs. Sweatt was preceded by her husband, Jimmy Lee Sweatt. She leaves behind her children, Steven Sweatt, Tim Sweatt (Monica), LeeAnn Carmichael (Greg) all of Memphis; and her beloved grandchildren, Corey Carmichael, Zach Carmichael ,Marylynne Carmichael, Andrew Sweatt, Matthew Sweatt and Aaron Sweatt. Mrs. Sweatt worked at Memphis Light Gas and Water as a secretary in her younger years, where she met her husband Jimmy. In later years, she served as a secretary for Everett Memorial Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, completely devoted to the care of her eldest son, Steven. She adored her grandchildren and will always be a special person in their lives. Mrs. Sweatt was a member of Mullins United Methodist Church and had served with the United Methodist Women’s Group. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on Thursday, February 14 with visitation from 12:00-1:00 p.m. and the service to follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Emily Matheny will officiate the service.The family would like to extend their heart felt gratitude to all of the caregivers who have help support and comfort Mrs. Sweatt throughout these last years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mullin’s United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the charity of donor’s choice.All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “A Fitting Farewell for Everyone”.
